Say What You Need To Say...

October 29, 2011

Since I can't sleep I thought I'd write a short (or not) post of the random things that are going through my over active brain right now. It's gonna be random, be prepared.

* I'm starting a new blog. Once I get it all set up I'll give most of you the link to it. I just need a space that my family can't read. You know, for when I need to vent. There's just somethings that I sometimes need to say that I'd prefer certain people don't see. I'm excited about it.

* I finally got my tabs (at the top of the page) working again. That was driving me nuts trying to figure out why the wouldn't show up lol.
* I'm patting myself on the back for my new layout. I'm loving the colors. I really liked the fall layout but the colors were so drab.

* I should know better than bragging about how well my new heartburn medicine is working (last night). I have terrible heartburn right now.

* My friend Jessica found out that she was pregnant on Wednesday. On Monday she found out that she'd had a miscarriage. It just breaks my heart for her. She's going to be a great Mother. She's taking it better than I expected her to though. I'm at least happy for that.

* My poor curling iron is dying a slow death. I usually just buy the Conair curling irons from Wal-Mart, like this one.

But I'm thinking I might want to try a different brand next time. So, what is your favorite brand of curling iron?

*   My straightening iron isn't far behind my curing iron. I love my Chi iron.

But it seems like I've only had this one for a year or so and it's already spazing out on me. It's my second one. I've already killed one of them lol. So, once again...what's your favorite brand straightening iron?

* To a certain someone...what I should have said was "Well excuse me for speaking the truth!" And while I'm at it, let me say this. Apologizing, even if you're right (you were so NOT right btw) is sometimes the "nice" thing to do. Duhh.

* Am I the only one who has some FB pet peeves going on? Here's just a short *snort* yeah right) list of mine.

  • Calling someone "out" on FB (online period). Do you really think telling the whole damn world "someone" that you're gonna "beat their ass into the ground" is going to scare them? Nothing like showing your friends how ghetto badass you are!

  • Posting pictures of your 7 year old child "shooting the bird". OK, it's cute when you catch a picture of a baby (or smaller child) doing it. But posting several pictures of your 7 year old daughter doing it (on purpose, usually because you told them to.) isn't going to win you any father of the year awards.

  • Posting pictures of your kid throwing gang signs. Really? He's 6.

{image courtesy of Google}

  • Letting everyone on FB know that you and your husband are arguing. And then getting pissed off at people because their comments aren't taking your "side".

  • 10 million people all trying to be the first person to tell you that Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse, and whoever else died. I mean, if you see it on your wall (from your friends posting it) more than five times, then I'm sure the rest of us know.

  • Letting your 5-12 year old kids open a FB account period. Have you ever heard the word pedophile?

  • Letting your young daughters post inappropriate (in my opinion) pictures of themselves. You know, the "sexy" poses in all those pics that you commented on saying "look at you miss sexy" or "your beautiful". *shakes head*

First of all, she hasn't even hit double digits yet. Secondly, why would you want her to think that pictures like that (of a young INPRESSIONABLE girl) are sexy or beautiful?

All I can say to the above is "You know there's a trailer park attached to that somewhere!"

  • Telling everyone and anyone who'll listen (on FB) how much of a deadbeat your baby daddy (or baby momma) is. If they're a deadbeat take them to court. Don't blast it on FB for everyone, including your child to see. And who (in their right mind) wants their child to know that their "Daddy don't care about them!"??

  • Family arguments where the whole family gets involved and starts leaving nasty comments on each other's profiles. Trashy.

  • Posting that "so and so" deleted and blocked you and how you could care less. You must care if you noticed.

  • Constantly complaining. Don't you ever have anything positive to say? No? Let me share a little secret with you that my Mom told me when I was young. "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."

Yes, I realize that this blog entry totally goes against the above quote. Shut up. It's my blog. Lmao.

  • Posting thousands of  "self portraits". Especially the one's that you've taken in the mirror. Don't get me wrong, I've taken a pic or two of myself, even in the mirror. But it was only so I could show off a hair cut or something. It wouldn't be so bad if there weren't so many of them. See this example below...

This is a girl that I used to work with. She's gorgeous. No doubt about it. She's also one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet. Not the brightest bulb in the bunch, but sweet as can be.

These pics kill me though. And this is only a few of them. There are lots more. Even worse...the damn "smooch" lips. Uugh. That's so last year. (yes, I'm being sarcastic).

You've just gotta love the first picture on the second row. If you look to the far left of the picture you can almost see her daughter sleeping in the back seat while she's taking pictures. As.she's.driving. Wow.

On a side note, HOLY BOOBS Batman. I don't care what you do, you're not hiding those puppies. Everyone knows that they're there. Do you really have to show them off in almost every picture? (If you're a guy I know what your answer will be.)

Am I hatin'? Damn skippy lol. I wish I looked that good!

  • Posting open ended status messages that make everyone ask you "What's wrong?" "Are you OK?" Basically, looking for pity. If you need some support, cool. But don't leave a message that makes everyone worry about you and then not answer them for a few hours. You know, for the "dramatic" effect. Can you say emo drama queen?

  • "Hacking" into your boyfriends (or girlfriends) FB and posting a status about how great their girlfriend (or boyfriend) is. It's annoying. Stop it. While you're at it, trying growing up a little. You're in your 40's. It's just weird.

  • Last but not least is all the game request that people send me. I do not want to help you plow any fields or any other such chore's that one would do on a farm. I don't want to help you with any kind of game. Did you ever learn to play alone as a child? And why is necessary to send me three or four a day? It seriously makes me want to delete you.

Maybe it's just me. Maybe I spend too much time on FB lol.

Beath In, Breath Out!

October 28, 2011

Yay, today is my exhale day. When I "confess" it's like a huge exhale! Let's get down to business, shall we?

I confess...Halloween is in a couple of days. At the beginning of the month when Hubby and I did our grocery shopping we bought two of these huge bags of Tootsie roll candy.

I confess...those two bags of candy are almost gone. Yay for tootsie rolls. Boo for tick or treaters. Boo for my waistline.

I confess...there were very few things I craved when I was preggers. Tootsie Rolls were the one constant thing I did crave. I should have known better than buying those two bags of candy.

I confess...This was posted by one of my sister's good friends (she's also on my friends list) on FB on the day that Obama announced that our troops would be coming home.

It honestly wanted to make me slap her selfish ass. I mean, I'm sure all the families of the troops were pissed about Y&R being interrupted too. The fact that my Sister "liked" this made me want to have a "come to God" meeting with her too lol.

I confess...My Godchild Destiny posted this picture on FB yesterday.

I was floored. I haven't seen her with long hair in years. I figured since I hadn't seen her since January that she'd let it grow out. This is how she normally wears it.

{Destiny and her Sister Amanda}
So I left her a comment that said "Des, I love your hair! Please promise me that you wont cut it!!" To which she replied "Nanny (that's what she calls me), that's weave!" Lmao!

I confess...My Niece Amanda (Destiny's sister) and her husband Luis went to the Vampire Ball last weekend and she posted these pics.

 {Amanda and Luis by the pond at my Sister's house before the ball}

 {How gorgeous are they?}

 {I'm in love with her hair color and totally want to copy it when I go home in December!}

 {The happy couple}

I confess...when I saw these pictures I almost cried. Amanda is such a beautiful girl. And you wouldn't know it by looking at her, but this girl has been through a lot in her short life. She had three kids by the time she was 23 (I think), she was in two abusive relationships and she had no self esteem what so ever.

Then she met Luis.

That man is so good to her. He treats her like a queen. Since meeting Luis she's gone to school and she's steps away from becoming an RN. She works her butt off. But she's happy.  And if you would have asked me years ago if she'd be as happy as she is today, I would have said no. I thank God for Luis coming into her life.

I can't tell you how many people say "She's too pretty to be with him!" when they see pictures of the two of them together! That makes me so angry. I could never begin to tell you how good he is to her. And how much she loves him!

I confess...I love that both of my Nieces are so happy. My Sister sure does make some beautiful babies doesn't she??

I confess....I didn't go to school at all this past week. I've been in a flare the entire week. I'm worried that they're going to end up kicking me out of the class if I keep missing like this. I haven't gone an entire week since I started. I'm either in a flare or I end up with a huge case of insomnia. And let me tell you, algebra doesn't come easy when you've had no sleep at all!

I confess...speaking no sleep. I've got to find out what the laws in our area are about barking dogs. It's seriously getting ridiculous!

The neighbors on my left have three pit bulls and a yellow lab that bark all damn day long.

I'm not even exaggerating. I wish I was.

The neighbor on my right have three beagles, they bark but it's not excessive.

The neighbors across the street (who just happen to be the parents and adult siblings of the neighbors on the left) have a German Sheppard that barks almost non stop all day.

The only relief that we get from the dogs on the left is if I put something on FB about how the barking is driving me nuts. Then my neighbor sees it and she'll bring her dogs in. Geeze!

I confess...I'll never understand why people have dogs if they're just going to chain them up and leave them outside to bark all damn day. It's cruel!

I confess...I received my bracelet from the Ruby Jane foundation yesterday.

{I don't think I'll ever take it off}

Along with the bracelet I got this picture, It is now hanging on my refrigerator for me to see every time I go in the kitchen!

{Such a beautiful angel}

All I had to do was tell them that I was already registered (register if you haven't already) organ donor. You can find out more about Ruby Jane here and here.

I confess...I can't wait to go home for Christmas.

{only 44 more days to go!}

I's the first time my whole family will be together for Xmas in 8 years. It's the first Xmas I'll spend with my Son in 8 years. I'm ecstatic about it!

Y'all have a great weekend now, ya hear?

Short N' Sweet? Maybe....

October 21, 2011

If you need to confess a few "sins" then head on over to Mamarazzi's blog and get the deets.

I confess...I've been up all night.

I confess...I've been up all night trying to uninstall and reinstall iTunes.

I confess...I don't understand why Apple would release an update if you can't install the damn thing. Without being a computer genius.

I confess...I've literally been at it since about 8:30 last night. It's now 5:46am and I still haven't been able to install the latest update.

I confess...I'm really bitter about it.

I confess...My Son's girlfriend broke up with him. Because she can't handle the fact that he's gone (at work) three weeks out of the month.

I confess...I get where she's coming from BUT she could go to work with him. He even offered to pay her bills (the few that she has) so that she doesn't have to get a job and she'll be able to go to work (not actually to work but out of town) with him.

I confess...He even offered to go back to his old position at work, where he'd be at home every night, on call three weeks out of the month.

I confess...If he goes back to the old position he wont get the promotion that he's supposed to get in January.

I confess...If he DOES get that promotion he'll get bonus' every year. Last year the bonus was $21,000.

I confess...He's willing to give all that up just so she'll be happy and take him back.

I confess...She told him "Let's give it time and we'll see how things go when you get home. (WTF? I mean, if a guy is that willing to do what it takes to make you happy you jump on it right??)

I confess...he's miserable.

I confess...Being the mother of a 22 year old grown man doesn't mean it's easy to know he's hurting and keep my trap shut. Apron strings are HARD to loosen people!

I confess...I'm a little bitter about it.

I confess...I found out yesterday that my bff is going to have a baby.

I confess...she's going to be the best Mommy ever. And she's going to have a beautiful baby!!

I confess...Math (school)  has been going a little easier for me this week. I'm cautiously optimistic.

I confess...I'm still bitter about it.

I confess...I packed up my "summer" clothes and unpacked all my "winter" clothes.

I confess...It's almost like have new clothes.

I confess...I got to wear my Uggs today. Nothing makes me happier.

I confess...I'll never be bitter about that!

I confess...These two brats right here have been working my ever lovin' last nerve.

I confess...I'll always be bitter about that!

Lol...I hope you all have a great weekend!

Just In Case You're Wondering

October 19, 2011

If you'd like to play along with this weeks We Want to Know Wednesday you can go by Mamarazzi's, Queso's or Crazymama's blogs and grab their button and the questions.

1. When was the last time you lost your temper?
 Probably today. Probably with my dogs (Bebe's kids). I don't know what's gotten into those two lately but man they're working my (and hubby's) last damn nerve lately.

No one believes us when we tell them how bad they are. It's true...they're BAD!

2. What 3 words best describe you?
Loving, caring, honest.

3. What movie could you watch over and over again and never get tired of?
The Hangover. I laugh every time I watch it. I like to laugh.

4. If you could do something dangerous, just once, with no risk, what would you do?
Go sky diving. I really want to. I'd have to go tandem though. Cause I know when it would get down to it there's no way I'd jump on my own lol.

5. Which is more important, intelligence or common sense?
Common sense. Without it, most people are pretty damn dumb. Sorry, just my opinion.

Hope you all have a great hump day!

I'm Tellin' Ya!

October 14, 2011

  People, I've got some confessin' (yeah I know it's spelled wrong. We'll get to that in a minute lol.) to do this week. Whew...what a week. Let's get started, shall we?

I is 1am on Friday morning and I'm still awake. And I don't see any sleep coming tonight.

I confess...I got my yearly mammogram yesterday. My poor boobs are hurting. I mean when someone says "ouch!" in the middle of getting a mammogram does that mean push the thing down 3 MORE EFFIN' TIMES so you can really torture me? Lol I know it's for my own good. My boobs on the other hand, I'm not so sure.

I the "lady" that was in front of me on my way to get my mammogram who turned on her left blinker to make a right turn. Since you're not so sure of where you're going, I'm sure I can tell you where to go.

I confess...yesterday would have been my little Sister's 36th birthday (she died when she was 13). It's so weird trying to imagine her at 36.

I just finished reading The Glass Rainbow by James Lee Burke (my favorite author). It ended in a damn cliffhanger. I.HATE.THAT. Now I have to wait for the next book to come out and by the time it does I will have forgotten every thing from this book lol.

I confess... when I turned on my laptop this morning I saw this pink line running through the screen.

I found out that it's a bad pixel line and that I'll have to replace the screen ($50-$100) to get rid of it. It's irritating as hell but I'll deal with it for now. But damn it.

I confess...So my dr has me on Vicodin for pain (I only take it as needed). That stuff makes me have some crazy ass dreams y'all. I rarely remember my dreams but holy cow these are NUTS.

I confess...this scared the hell out of me.

 As if one headed snakes aren't enough??

I confess...I ordered some Bare Essentials last week since I'm almost out of my Merle Norman base (that I've been using for years) and I just haven't liked the coverage that I've been getting out of it lately. It's taking forever to come in dang it. I needs my make up.

I confess...I'm no grammar/spelling expert but I just had to share this stuff with y'all. I mentioned last week that a friend of mine committed suicide. When I went to sign the guest book (online) I saw these and it drove me freaking nuts. I mean, drove me nuts so bad I wanted to find each of them and slap them in the back of the head lol.

Can I just say how much this last one pissed me off? I mean first of all, yes...I did have to add those stars to that word. Who in the right mind uses that word when signing the guest book for someone's funeral?

And knowing that he committed suicide, do you think that "the fast life aint always the best" was the appropriate thing to say?? Who in the hell raised this particular child?? Uugh. Not to mention the "shout out". Yeah, that was classy.

And then on FB tonight what do I see?

 Tare?? I think it's tear boo boo. And to think the girl that wrote this one was my boss at one time.
From my Son's ex. Thank God she's an ex lol.

Ok, if I wasn't so tired I'd go back over this entire post with a magnifying glass to make sure I didn't make any grammar/spelling error but I'm too dang tired lol. Y'all have a great weekend!

We Wanna Know!

October 12, 2011

It's hump day. Hump day means we all get to join Mamarazzi, Queso and Crazymama for the weekly questions for WWTKW! I'm having a flare up (fibro) today so I'm going to keep it short and sweet.

{1} What is your feel better remedy when you are sick?
Mine is just usually rest but Hubby makes me drink this stuff I like to call "Ass in a Cup" (cause that's got to be what ass would taste like if you put it in a cup.). I'm not sure of the exact recipe but it has Lambrusco (wine), honey and I think lemon juice in it and he heats it up. me the willies just thinking about it. But...I can't lie, it works. Damn it.

{2} When illness strikes, what is your policy on staying home from work, school or church with yourself and the family?

Well usually when I get sick (with a cold and/or flu) it makes me have a flare up (fibromyalgia) too, which means I have trouble walking. So I stay home. It's kind of hard to go anywhere if you're having trouble moving around. Hubby is stubborn and has to be almost dead before he'll actually stop and take a break. My Son is grown so I can "make" him stay home anymore.

{3} What do you think is worse? Flu or cold?

For me...the flu. Holy body aches.

{4} Flu shots? Do you get them? Have you yet?

I got mine a couple of weeks ago. I don't usually get them because I always seem to get a cold even though the dr's say that a flu shot can not make you sick immediately after I get the damn shot. This is the first flu shot I've had in over 10 years.

{5} When are are feeling down, what is your usual, go-to therapy? (retail therapy, exercise, comfort food, etc).

I usually call one of my Sisters. Sometimes messing around with Photoshop helps to take my mind off of whatever is bothering me. Sometimes.

Happy Friday

October 7, 2011

I'm so glad it's Friday, why does this week seem like it has gone by so damn slow? So if you're ready for your weekly confessional then head on over to Mamarazzi's blog and join in the fun.

I confess...I love my new layout but I can't figure out why my pages/links aren't showing up at the top of the page. I can see the pages perfectly when I try to edit them but when I save them and try to view them...NOTHING.

I confess...It's totally pissing me off. I'm usually good about figuring this stuff out but not this time. I hate that.

I confess...all night Wednesday night and most of Thursday morning I had indigestion so bad I (honestly) thought I was having to have a heart attack. Oh good Lord that mess hurts. Last week my doctor changed my heartburn medicine and I'm wondering if that's what is causing the indigestion.

I confess...I went to see my pain management doctor on Thursday and I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone or something. When I saw her a month ago she said that she wanted me to go see a neurosurgeon (for a birth defect in my brain that they found on my last MRI), she said that they would call me once they'd made the appointment with them. So when I went in on Wednesday and she asked me why I didn't go to get the xrays of my hips that she'd ordered, I was lost. I tried to tell her about the neuro appointment and she looked at me like I was crazy. WTH??

I confess...I sent my Son's gf a text message today and told her that I am going to buy my tickets to go home (for xmas/new year) next month. My Son called me a couple of hours later and told me that they wanted to buy my tickets for me as my xmas present.

I confess...I almost cried. How sweet are they?? A few minutes after we hung up his gf sent me this pic of him.

I confess...he's such a ham. He's hilarious, and I'm not just saying that because he's my kid. Ok, so maybe I am but so what??

I confess...I hope we have a nice quiet weekend. I've been feeling like crap lately, I just want to veg out all weekend long.

That's all I've got this week, hope you all have a good weekend.

They Want To Know Y'all

October 5, 2011

It's hump day again, and that means that it's time to join Mamarazzi and Queso for this weeks edition of  WWTKW.

{1} If you had an extra hour to do ANYTHING for yourself each day what would you do?

Oh this could be a long list lol. Get a massage, daydream of Jax (for those of you who don't know who Jax is wth are you NOT watching SOA yet??), visit with my Sisters.

But since none of  things are likely to happen on a typical day I'd have to say give myself a mani/pedi.

{2} Are you a morning person or a night owl?

I am a TOTAL night owl. It takes me over an hour before I'm awake and can form complete sentences lol.

{3} How much sleep do you get on an average night?

Four our five hours tops. Sometimes none. Sometimes none for two days in a row. Gotta love insomnia!

{4} When do you find the time to blog/surf the ol' interweb?

Usually first thing in the morning and then again in the afternoon/evening after I get home from school. Though my laptop is always on and ready to go.

{5} What is the ONE thing you're never too busy for?

Talking with my Son. I'll drop anything I'm doing if he calls. Since we live so far away from each other and I can't be there with him I try to never miss his calls.

This weeks questions were fun! Ok, time for me to brag on myself a bit. I got the results back from the Science GED test that I took a couple of weeks ago. I needed a 410 to pass and 500 is a perfect score. I made a 490 on it. Yes! I blew it out of the water y'all!

I only have the Writing (essay, should be easy) and Math (God help me) left to take and then I'll be the proud owner of a shiny new GED.  Math is still kicking my ass, it's hilarious that at 42 I'll come home from school and cry over algebra. It seems impossible to remember all that I'll have to remember in order to pass that damn test, but I'm not giving up!

Have a happy hump day y'all!

Winner, Winner, Scentsy Winner and Other Random Stuff

October 3, 2011

Ok, I realize my title sounds cheesy as hell but it's all I could come up with in a rush lol. This morning I (well actually did all the work) picked the winner of my Scentsy giveaway. And the winner is...

Countrygirl185! Congrats Jessica! You're going to LOVE your Scentsy warmer. I know I do mine.

Ok, on to other randomness of the day. I got up early (the butt crack of dawn tyvm) to get ready for school. I was in class for five minutes when a woman rushes into our class and says "everyone out NOW!" You don't have to tell me twice people. There were cops everywhere and school was closed for the rest of the day. I'm not sure whats going on but I overheard some of the cops saying that they're searching for someone and something about tracing an email. I'm guessing someone sent a threatening email to the school. Its sad when you (adults at the school) have to worry about this type of thing. What a waste of a cute outfit. Lol I'm only kidding. I'm hoping that everyone's OK and that they resolve whatever it is that's going on!

I just found out that a friend from home committed suicide this past weekend. Y'all know that since my ex (Rusty's Dad) committed suicide that it's a sensitive subject for me (the selfishness of it all) but my heart breaks for this guy. His Dad had committed suicide years ago (he was maybe 1 or 2) so I can't imagine what could have been going on in his life to drive him to this. Such a sad situation.

I'm no longer a blond. I decided that after trying to dye my own hair (NEVER a good idea people) blond and having my roots turn red while the rest of my hair turned blond that I just needed to go back (or close) to my "natural" color.

 {this is gonna take a bit of getting used to}

That's all of my randomness for the day. I've got a date with some math homework. Wish me luck, one of us (math and I) may just hurt the other today.
