Ok, I realize my title sounds cheesy as hell but it's all I could come up with in a rush lol. This morning I (well actually random.org did all the work) picked the winner of my Scentsy giveaway. And the winner is...
Countrygirl185! Congrats Jessica! You're going to LOVE your Scentsy warmer. I know I do mine.
Ok, on to other randomness of the day. I got up early (the butt crack of dawn tyvm) to get ready for school. I was in class for five minutes when a woman rushes into our class and says "everyone out NOW!" You don't have to tell me twice people. There were cops everywhere and school was closed for the rest of the day. I'm not sure whats going on but I overheard some of the cops saying that they're searching for someone and something about tracing an email. I'm guessing someone sent a threatening email to the school. Its sad when you (adults at the school) have to worry about this type of thing. What a waste of a cute outfit. Lol I'm only kidding. I'm hoping that everyone's OK and that they resolve whatever it is that's going on!
I just found out that a friend from home committed suicide this past weekend. Y'all know that since my ex (Rusty's Dad) committed suicide that it's a sensitive subject for me (the selfishness of it all) but my heart breaks for this guy. His Dad had committed suicide years ago (he was maybe 1 or 2) so I can't imagine what could have been going on in his life to drive him to this. Such a sad situation.
I'm no longer a blond. I decided that after trying to dye my own hair (NEVER a good idea people) blond and having my roots turn red while the rest of my hair turned blond that I just needed to go back (or close) to my "natural" color.
{this is gonna take a bit of getting used to}
That's all of my randomness for the day. I've got a date with some math homework. Wish me luck, one of us (math and I) may just hurt the other today.
ood Morning y'all. Yup...I've changed it up again. When I started this layout I wanted something white...something bright. This isn't exactly what I had in mind at the time, but I like it...for now lol. Please, if any of y'all notice any errors on the page, please...let me know lol. I think after a couple of hours yesterday, everything started looking the same.
Well, the news of Mr Luvah Luvah's layoff has gotten a bit worse, instead of him having a month left, he's got until Thursday. They've decided to do away with the night shift this week, so as of Thursday...he'll be laid off from that job. It's stressful but exciting at the same time.
I told him last night that I've almost forgotten what it's like to have to cook supper every night. I've missed it. And I wont have as much time to spend on line anymore. Hells y'all...my man is actually going to be home at 4:00 in the afternoon as opposed to almost 1 a.m. every night.
He's already started talking about helping his friend coach the wrestling team at the high school right down the road. Honestly, when he said that, I thought I was going to strangle him. I mean...we haven't had a whole lot of time together considering we're "newlyweds." But, I can't tell him no. He's been wanting to help coach the wrestling team for so long. And after the first couple of weeks are going to be nice but then we'd just start getting on each others nerves lol. He's also excited about being able to go golfing again too.
He's gotten my car fixed, for the most part. Only a couple of minor things he needs to do. So I'll be getting my butt back to school. I'm so ready to get my GED and get it over with already! It's hard to believe that I started this almost a year ago and I'm still not done. Once I've gotten my GED I've decided to take a couple of classes at the community college...just because. I didn't get to take American History when I was in HS...I quit before I got a chance to. It's a class I've always wanted to take, so it will be the very first one I sign up for. After that, I'm not sure what I'm going to do.
Mr Luvah Luvah keeps telling me that I should go to school for graphic design or something to do with designing websites. But...it's my hobby, I'm not sure that I want to do it every day. I'm too much of a perfectionist for that lol. I'd drive my clients nuts!
Saturday night Hubs and I are going to see the Norfolk Tides, they'll be celebrating "Armed Forces Day." I've only seen one baseball game there, but it should be fun. They're having a huge fireworks show after the game. We're going to be meeting up with my SIL and her family. We always have fun when we get together so I'm looking forward to it!
So, apparently night before last I got my happy ass on Ebay after I took my Ambien. Apparently I think I'm going on a cruise or something. I bought some tanning lotion and a (gorgeous) maxi dress. Y'all...I don't remember doing this at all, which scares the livin' shit out of me. I mean, if I can go shopping (on line) and not remember it, what else can I do on that shit and not remember it? Lol...but damn I sleep so good on it. Crazy y'all, just crazy!
Speaking of cruises, you have to watch this video. It's my bro in law giving one of his buddies a (video) tour of one of their (at last count I think this is their 19th) boats. They're completely redoing the inside of the boat. All new teak wood...it's going to be gorgeous once they're done. Then they're going to be off to sail to the Bahama's.
The boat is parked behind their house, they have a gorgeous house on the bayou. I wish I had some pics of the house to show y'all. I love it there. They're actually going to let me and the girls (Leiah and Kimber, maybe even DeAnn) use their guest house when we all meet up in September!! So nice of them to let us use the house instead of having to rent hotel rooms! Have I mentioned how freakin' excited I am about meeting these girls?? Only four more months girls!! YAY!
It's actually a mess in the video though. (He's got workers all over the place and tools and stuff everywhere in the video.) Anyway, my bro in law is as coonass (Cajun) as they get so his accent is thick. And the way he describes the different rooms of the boat are hilarious!! Anyway...here's the video...
Ian sent me a message and said that the video isn't working, so here's the link to watch it!
I've got to get my butt off of here. As soon as my dr's office opens I'm going to call and try to get an appointment for today. My damn ears keep "stopping" up and it's driving me nuts. Not only can I not hear, but it's hurting like crazy. So I'm gonna go see what in the hell is going on with that! The weather has been shitty here, rain for the last three days, has my fibromyalgia flaring up something awful too. Fun stuff y'all! Lol...
Before I forget, I made a new tag for y'all to grab. I swear...it's the last one. No matter what I do to my blog, this one is here to stay. So grab it....if you'd like. Also, I FINALLY updated my about me page. I've also added a frequently asked questions page. So please...send me a question, I need to fill that page up lol. Ask away! Thanks y'all!
Oh what fun it is! If you haven't played along go check out Travis' blog I Like To Fish and join in on the fun!
When my son was in Kindergarten he went to a very small (elementary) school. There was one class for each grade. The school was having a parents banquet, basically it was a parent teacher conference with all the other parents and their kids there at the same time lol. Rusty’s Dad and I were really excited to see what Rusty had been learning about in class and to see how he was doing.
One of the projects that the kids did for the parents was a life size silhouette of themselves. Their teacher (who looked like the Nutty Professor only scarier! I was scared of the man and I’m an adult. Shut up!) hung these huge pieces of paper on the wall, stood the kids in front of it, traced their outlines and then the kids had to “draw” themselves in. Once the kids were finished with them they were hung all around the cafeteria for all the parents to see. The parents were going to be allowed to bring them home at the end of the banquet.
So we got to the cafeteria and there were parents every where. Rusty has us both by the hands…he couldn’t wait for us to see his “picture” that he’d been telling us about since we left the house. We finally make our way to Rusty’s silhouette and I’m looking at it and for the life of me I can’t figure out why his mouth looks like a rectangle with jagged edges on the end’s of it. His Dad and I are looking at each other like WTH?? But we’re telling him how great it looks, telling him how good of a job we thought he did and all the good stuff parents are supposed to say. So finally I couldn’t take it anymore I had to ask “Rusty, what is that on your mouth?” And in all of the innocence that a five year old has he says “Duct tape!!” Well…it shocked the hell out of me lol. So I said (so loud that every parent within a two foot radius heard me) “WHAT?” Lol…and he says “I like duct tape! I thought it would look cool!” (I swear to God I’ve NEVER put duct tape or any other kind of tape on my child’s mouth!) Needless to say (the nutty professor) his teacher asked to speak with us. He thought it was hilarious. Thank God he was also Rusty’s Dad’s sixth grade teacher when he was in school, so he knew that it wasn’t anything to be worried about. Honestly though, I never felt right around him (the teacher) again! Lol… But you know he went home at told that story over and over again!
Another time when Rusty was 5 or 6 we were at a friends house sitting on the side of the pool with our legs in the water, Rusty was sitting next to me splashing his legs. A butterfly landed between us and Rusty got all excited! He’s telling me “Shhh…..lets just watch it!” Well I went to pick the butterfly up by it’s wings, I was gonna give Rusty a better view of it. Well…he grabbed my hands so hard you would have thought he was trying to break them! He was SO MAD at me!! (I can’t help but giggle as I type this!) He looks at me with this face that was SO SERIOUS and he says “Noooo Momma! You’re gonna rub the butter off of it!!” Well, me and the friend that we were visiting both busted out laughing! Rusty got mad at us, he just couldn’t understand why we thought rubbing the butter off of the butterflies was so funny! Lol…
Some days I miss him being that little! And then I wake up and I get over that shit quick!! He’s just as funny now but not in that five year old funny kind of way!
