In Case You're Wondering....

September 15, 2011

I've haven't been blogging as much as I normally do so I thought it was time for a short update, I'm sure you're all dying to know all about what's going on with me right?? Why do I hear crickets?? (lol)

Right before I left to go to Tennessee at the end of June my pain management (Fibromyalgia) doctor sent me for another MRI. I went last week and got the results of that.

Back when I was first diagnosed with Fibromyalgia I'd had a MRI done and my doctor in Louisiana said that I had (a birth defect in my brain) Chiari Malformation. But my doctor here said (after my first MRI with her) that she didn't see it, which is why she sent me for the MRI in June.

(Basically, Chiari Malformation is when part of your brain is "protruding"  through the hole in the back of your skull. At least that's the way it was explained to me.)

Turns out I do have Chiari Malformation and she is sending me to a Neurologist. She doesn't think that I need surgery but she's not sure how to proceed with my treatment (for the Fibro), she doesn't want to "make things worse." It's so confusing lol.

Yesterday I signed back up for GED classes, and I got really good news. They now offer math classes, which is awesome because there's no way I'm going to pass the math portion of the GED test without a "refresher" course. I had to retake the entrance test because it's been so long (2 years) since I've been there. I improved my scores by over 100 points from the last time that I'd taken them.

So Monday I start the math classes and  Tuesday I'll be taking the Science portion of the GED test. I'm excited to get it finished FINALLY.

We had a great visit with my Son and his girlfriend, though it was much too short. They got here on (last) Thursday, since they'd been flying all morning we just stopped for lunch and then came home for them to relax for the rest of the day.

On Friday I took them down to the OBX to see the beach and to do some shopping. It was such a gorgeous day, the weather was perfect for a walk on the beach.

(I love the OBX)

{Rusty and I}

 {Rusty and Amanda}

 {she's so tiny next to him lol}

After the beach we did some shopping. I guess I should say they did some shopping lol. Though Rusty did buy me a gorgeous purse. I argued with him over it but he got pissed at me so I ended up getting it lol. Actually I'd picked out a plain brown purse (safe choice) but Rusty pointed out this one and turns out I love it! The kid has good taste y'all!

{sometimes it pays to listen to your kid}

On Saturday we went to Bush Gardens. We got there at 10 am and by 1 in the afternoon we were all exhausted from riding roller coasters all morning so we headed home. I don't have any pics from Bush Gardens, I didn't  bring my camera and Amanda hasn't uploaded the one pic that we did take with hers yet.

Rusty has been looking for some funny hats to buy while he was here to wear to Mud Nationals (remember his costume from last year??) He got this hat at Bush Gardens...

{King Rus}

I want to try to make him a kings robe and get him a scepter to go with it. Lol that should go over great at Mud Nationals don't ya think? My kid is nuts sometimes y'all!

Hubby gave him this one (he bought it to wear to his daughters rehearsal dinner when she got married. It was hilarious!)

{I think he's been in North Carolina too long!}

I couldn't look at him for long in this one lol. It just gave me the jeebies. It's kind of weird seeing him with hair, he wears his really short.
Rusty and Amanda fell asleep in the back seat of the truck, I don't know how they slept like that. My neck would have been killing me lol.

{that can't be comfortable}

I fell asleep in the front seat but my head kept bobbing and it kept waking me up lol. Poor hubby didn't get to sleep, he had to drive home lol.

Sunday we went to a friends hanger at the airport so Rusty and Amanda could see all of his antique airplanes then came home and I cooked dinner. We watched a couple of movies and just chilled for the night. On Monday morning they had to go home.

I cried all the way home lol. Even though he's 22 he's always going to be "my baby" and I miss him already. But...all in all it was a great visit with him and it was nice meeting his girlfriend.

Be sure to go enter my Scentsy giveaway if you haven't already! It's good stuff y'all! Well, that's whats been up with me. What's been going on with y'all??

Giving Thanks, Showing Ink and More....

November 9, 2010

First of all I want to say a huge THANK YOU to each and every one of you who commented on my last post. The "anniversary" of my little sisters death is always a hard day for me, but this year it was extremely hard. I'm not sure why it hit me so hard this year, but it did. I talked to my other two sisters and it was the same for them too.

You guys were great. Your comments made me feel so loved, and so understood. I can't thank y'all enough, really! Especially my BB girls! I've said it before and I'll say it again, even when I'm not taking a huge part in the group y'all always seem to come together and show me love when I need it the most. Thank you! I love you girls, more than you'll ever know!!

On the day of the "anniversary" hubby had an appointment to get his new tattoo. He made this appointment in August, that's how busy this guy (the tattoo artist) is. So this past Saturday we spent the evening at the tattoo shop. We've both been tattooed  by Jen (who works there) before, but hubby really wanted one from the guy who owns the shop, so that's who his appointment was with. This guy does AMAZING work!

I love that the tattoo that he got has a rose on it, and that he picked that one because my Mom's name was Rose and he wanted one to (in part) honor her! I love him for that!!

Getting started.

Ha! Ha! I was picking on them about this pic! There hubby is with his arm/hand on Mike's leg and he's doing "that" with his hand! They were actually talking about the tattoo that hubby's 70 something year old Mother wants to get while they're here visiting! She wants a tiny daisy tattoo! How cool is she??

The finished product! How gorgeous is that thing? I love it!

While we were there Jen drew up tattoo's for two different guys, who apparently didn't know what in the hell they wanted! She drew up 5 or 6 different pics for them...each. And they still didn't like what she'd drawn up. So she told them that they needed to go home and think about what it was that they really wanted.

Obviously,  she was not a happy camper! She'd spent over five hours drawing up stuff for these two guys only to end up not having a tattoo to do.

Hubby and I had discussed that I wanted to get a tattoo for my little sister (since I have one for my other two sisters). So I was asking Jen about it while I was there. I told her I wanted to get her initials on the back of my neck and asked her how much she would charge me. She said..."Want to do it now?" I figured I might as well since we were already there and she was charging me almost nothing to do it! It took her less than 15 minutes to draw it up and tattoo it on me!

How fitting that I got it on the "anniversary" of her passing?

Is it bad that I'm already thinking about what tattoo I want next? I mean...I have 7 and I want another one lol!

I stopped by the grocery store (that I used to work at) earlier today and one of the managers asked me when I was going to come back to work. Honestly, I didn't think I could because of the reason I was let go. I was $100 short. It was the second time I was short over $100. So I'd never even thought about going back. But now she's got me thinking about it.

Don't get me wrong. The job drove me nuts. I hated the hours. I hated working weekends and holidays. But I felt good when I worked there. I KNEW that I was good at my job. Being a book keeper and CSR (shift supervisor) was right up my alley. My bosses loved the work that I did. Honestly, when we found out that I was short my bosses did everything they could to keep home office from letting me go.

I mean, they'd looked at the camera footage, they knew I didn't steal the money...I made a mistake and gave someone they're change (from $100 bill) and their $100 bill back. No excuse...my f*ck up. But hell, home office had cut our hours so much that I'd gone from having 9 cashiers at night to 3. That meant that I had to get on a register A LOT. I was on a register, I had a cashier calling me because they needed me to go turn a key, another cashier calling me because they needed change and I was trying to handle the customer I had at my register at the same time. Still...no excuse.

I'm debating going back. I guess it's something that hubby and I will have to discuss. I'm really not sure if I want to put myself through that stress again. And if I do go back then that would mean that I would have to put getting my GED on hold...again. I really don't want to do that. Now that I've got a car that I can depend on I was getting ready to go back and finish. I don't have much longer left...there's only 3 more parts of the GED test that I need to take. I know that I'll pass two of them...it's just the math portion of the test that I'm gonna have to take some kind of class before I can pass it. I'm thinking that right now...the GED is more important!

Not this coming weekend but the next hubby and I will be making a quick trip to Charlotte to pick his parents up. We'll drive up there (6 hour trip) and turn around and drive home the same day. It's just too hard trying to find someone to come and take care of our dogs for us to make it an overnight trip.

Anyroadtrips, They're coming to spend the holidays with us. Hubby will bring them back to Charlotte in January while I'm in Louisiana for my Godchild's wedding.

Well, that's my update and I'm sticking to it! Haha!

I'm all mixed up uh huh!

March 1, 2010

Whew...I feel well rested from our 12 hour road trip yesterday. You know me...I have to share highlights from the road.

We passed by this HUGE place called JR's. Y'all...they sell everything from "Braziers to Chandeliers." They had OVER 25,000 bath towels. They had cigars, they had cigarettes, they had fireworks, oh hell...what didn't they have? I was begging hubby to stop. He wouldn't. He's still sleeping on the couch. Lol...kidding! I thought it was hilarious that one of their (200) signs said "Braziers to Chandeliers!!" I'm guessing they stack it deep and sell it cheap. I'm still a little bitter that he wouldn't stop! Lmao...

I got into an argument with the GPS...bitch is bossy yo! "800 yards turn left!" "Turn left!" "Turn left!" "TURN LEFT!!!" Bitch you said in 800 yards, we've only gonne 200! Shut it!

Mr Man and I have totally different taste in music. Totally. So the radio is usually set on his station when we ride in his truck. Uugh. Lol...Don't get me wrong, I can tolerate his music, hell some of it I love. He can't tolerate my music...at all! Lol...

Ok...here's Mr. Man...

 Wanna take a guess what this big tough looking biker dude's favorite music is??

Yup! Motown! He Loves it! I don't mind, I can listen to it. No biggie for me.

Ok...now me. (This pic is a few years old)

Wanna guess what my favorite music is?

Lmao...most people freak out when they found out that I love rap. Snoop Dogg is my favorite! Mr Man can only take this kind of music for about 20 minutes before he's done lol.

Anymusic...we found this really cool music station on our way home last night. They were playing all this 70's and 80's "disco" music! Lmao...we were dancing and singing all the way home. Until we lost the signal for the damn station. It was fun while it lasted though.

We got home at about 11:30 last night, unloaded the truck, played with the dogs for a bit then we went to bed. 12 hours on the road took it's toll on us.

Today I got up and went and got us a new printer since ours died last week! We got a Lexmark S605. It's wireless, has a touchscreen, prints on both sides of the page. It's really nice!

I have a photo project that I'm trying to do and I've been having trouble with how the pictures are printing so I'm gonna work on that tomorrow.

After picking up the printer I went grocery shopping. Good Lord that place was PACKED!! It took me forever! Hands down...my least favorite "chore" I do.

Came home and started doing some spring cleaning! I've made up a whole list of shit that I want to get done this week. Next week I'm supposed to start going back to school to get my GED so I want to get all of that done before I go back to school.

I know...this entry was all over the place lol. Seems to be my theme these days! Hope you all had a great weekend!
