People, I'm starting to get excited. So damn excited! In 44 short days (43 sleeps!!) I'll be going home for a visit. Two weeks. Two whole weeks! I get to spend time with my son, my sisters, my Dad, my friends.
I'll be able to go get some boudin balls... (dirty rice rolled into balls battered and fried!! yummy!) I'm gonna hurt myself eating these damn things! They should sell these here!
And I can go get a pink lemonade snoball! God....why don't they sell these damn things here???
I can drive down Main Street...
I'll get to see all the beautiful Live Oak trees covered in Spanish moss....
I'll get to see the view of the beautiful Bayou Teche....
I'm going to go hiking at Lake Fausse Pointe State Park.... (my favorite place to go on a slow day!!)
And I'm gonna go to Pelicans on the Bayou (my sister's restaurant/bar)
and get a daiquiri in the drive through window (because I can bitches lol!)!! I mean seriously, look at this menu....which flavor will I choose today??
I get to meet one (maybe 3??) of my blogger friends. So excited about that! Leiah is going to be coming down the weekend after I get there to celebrate the Sugarcane Festival with me! Whew...it's gonna be one hell of a party y'all!
I'm gonna drink beer wtih my sisters, and drink shots with my sisters, and party with my sisters! God I miss my sisters lol!
I can't wait, I miss home so much!!

You're not counting down the days, are you? haha
When we lived in Shreveport I loved being able to pull up to and order a daiquiri.
That boudin ball sounds interesting.
HOW EXCITING!
I always feel like that when I go to Texas to see my family!!!!
Fun! There's no place like home. I've never been to the Sugarcane Festival. Actually the only one we usually go to is Shrimp & Petroleum Fest!!
A good sno-cone (with cream!) would be just about worth the 6 hour drive... I still get a kick out of the thought of my cousin going on a daiquiri run for her office just any old day. Man, Louisiana is really it's own world.
Oh girl, you're making me homesick for New Iberia! lol I've never been to Pelican's on the Bayou, but will have to check it out. The menu looks fab! And of course, I'll tell your sister that you sent me.
All I'm sayin is I need to make my way down so we can meet! email so we can get our stuff together!!!
I'm so excited for you!
P.S. Another great redesign!!
You had me at battered and fried...
:)
I LOVE it there. It's SOOO beautiful!!! I'm jealous friend.
I'm officially hungry!
I am SOOOOO hoping I can come!!
I don't know what a Pink Squirrel is but it sounds delightfully delicious. Have one for me!
I can't wait to see pictures from your trip!
