This weekend Mr Man's daughter is getting married. We live an hour from Virginia beach (in NC). He has to pick his tux up on Friday, rehearsal dinner is on Saturday and the wedding is on Sunday. So we're just going to be spending friday-monday at a hotel up there instead of driving home every night. That means I need to pack up all of our stuff.
I have a confession to make, I'm a huge over packer. I just hate the thought that I might need something and I'll not have it. Last night Mr Man and I were talking about him getting the suitcases out of the attic and how many we'd need (which he totally forgot to get out of the damn attic and I'm not going up there because well...I'm scared of mice and for some reason mice always seem to be in attics!). Well Mr Man chimes in and says "I only need my backpack!" Y'all the man shaves his head, he's bald. He needs 3 things. A razor. Shaving cream. Cologne. That's it.
Let's go over what I'll be needing to pack.
Shampoo and conditioner
Shine serum
straightening cream
blow dryer
brush
comb
hair clip (to use when I have to curl my hair)
straightening iron
curling iron
styling spray
finishing spray
bobby pins (in case I decide to put my hair up in an updo)
Do you see where I'm going with this? That's just what I'm going to need for my hair. Throw in clothes for the rehearsal dinner, clothes for wedding, jewelry for both outfits, make up, shaving stuff, meds, etc. Men have it so damn easy lol.
Tomorrow is actually a big day for me (throw in a sarcastic tone here). We've been married for 10 months and I still haven't been added to Mr Mans bank account. His bank is also in VA and it's just been really hard to get up there during the week when the bank is open.
Mr Man has also had some aprehension about adding me to the account. He probably wouldn't admit that, but it's written all over his face. I don't know why, what he's worried about, what he coudl possibly think I would do. But honestly, especially since I'm not working anymore, I'm sick and tired of having to ask for money all the time. So I'm glad I'll finally have my own ATM card, you know...
I'll be sure to take lots of pics. I'm sure you all know that my

I live north of Lake Charles. That Man lives 25 minutes away in Sulphur. I take a "hair & makeup" bag and another one for clothes when I stay at his house. Two big duffel bags and I'm only 25 mins away from home. I say it's his fault because he's the one who likes my hair long and it takes all this crap to fix it. LOL!
Enjoy your big day! Your hair will look fabulous and the house will be in great shape when you return. I just know it.
Sounds like you have a busy, but fun weekend ahead of you.
I am terrible over-packer myself. Unfortunately I over pack for my whole family so you don't want to see us going on 2 week vacation.
Oh I hear ya- I'm a total overpacker--I'll pay the extra $ in airports when my bag goes over the weight limit!
I always over pack, especially if we are going out of the states. Right now I have 3 suit cases almost completely packed for our flight on Sunday. Being prepared and organized is the only way I fly... and over packing!
Yesterday was my unmotivated day. I wake up at 6:30 everyday after ticking off my list of to-do's in my head. That seems to get me going. Of course this morning I have wasted a couple hours on blogland and feel guilty!
Overpacking is WAY better than underpacking!
Have a great time!
And good luck with packing...with all the stuff you need to need to bring you better get started!
You pack like I do! I have so many hair products and clothes and necessaties it's not even funny!!!
Have a safe, fun trip!
Hello, fellow homesick Cajun here. Enjoyed reading your post and LOL'd at the packing list. I've got the same list. When we went to Italy and had restrictions on luggage weight I nearly panicked. Not as easy to buy something over there if I forget it. Anyway, thanks for stopping by my blog. Have a great day!
Have a wonderful time my dear! I totally feel you. I'm an over-packer as well. I weekend to Vegas includes at least three pairs of shoes. Six different outfits. Blow dryer, flatiron, shampoo, conditioner, texturizer, gel, hairspray, etc . . . LoL!
I am you, or you are me.
And my husband is your husband.
Don't forget band-aids and tylenol... you just never know.
I bring my own soft soap!!
Blogging always seems to get in the way of us "having" to do stuff, right?! lol
Have a great weekend and I can't wait to see the pictures.
I am definitely an over-packer, too. Especially since I had Dawson (I've gotten way better). Even going to a doctor's appt meant carrying around a 20 pound diaper bag of stuff I *might* need. *lol*
If you think about it, will you pick me (actually for Dawson) up a postcard while you are in VA?? Pretty please with a cherry on top. :-)
If you saw how much crap I brought with me just to spend ONE NIGHT in a hotel 20 minutes from my house you'd laugh.
I have an award for you, come over and pick it up.
Whew! I finally found your blog. Good god, I thought I'd be 80 by the time I got here.
Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful weekend and a great time at the wedding.
After the list of haircare products, I wanted a photo :))
I, too, am an overpacker! I have to pack everything just in case!
