I Confess...All Is Right In My World

September 9, 2011

Photobucket

I confess...I have a really fun and exciting (at least for me) give away coming up. I'm hoping to get the details posted by Monday. But since I have some VIP's visiting until Tuesday, it might be a little "late!"

I confess... I'm breathing a huge sigh of relief today. I'm also grinning like nobodies business.Want to know why? Because these two cuties...

arrived here today for five days of fun in the sun and also to visit one VERY happy Momma (that would be me!)

I confess...I'm secretly hoping for some snuggle time with that cute guy up there for myself.

I confess...I seriously doubt that I'll get that above mentioned snuggle time since he's now 22 and visiting his Mom (Me) with his girlfriend who I'm just meeting for the first time today.

I confess...knowing that the above cute guy has "outgrown" snuggle time with his Momma really REALLY sucks.

I confess...I like his girlfriend. She's adorable. And much more of a tiny tot that I thought lol. She's 4'11". My Son is 6'5". They're so dang cute together!

I confess...I can tell my Son is in love. That makes this Momma very, very happy.

I confess...hubby ended up going to bed around 11 and Rusty, Amanda and I ended up staying up until almost 4 am just talking about old times.

I confess...I loved every single minute of it.

I confess...My Son and I even talked about his Dad's suicide two years ago. He's never really talked to me (in depth) about it before, which always made me worry about how he's dealing with it. I'm happy to say that he's much more understanding of the reasons for his Dad's choosing to shoot himself that I expected. Much more so than I am. Knowing that makes me feel much better.

I confess...I loved telling Amanda all the cute (and scary) stories about when he was little. Like the time he super glued his eyes closed, and the time he wouldn't let me touch a butterfly because he thought I was going to "rub the butter off of it". Many laughs were had.

I confess...I've been doting over my Son like he's still 4 years old.

I confess...I've loved every.single.minute.of.it.

I confess...I made a huge bowl of banana pudding. Just for him.

I confess...You should have seen the smile on his face when I handed him his first bowl of it.

I confess...That smile is what I live for.

I confess...I couldn't be happier right now. Not even if you gave me a million $$$. Well, unless he said he was moving up here.

I confess...I'm sure you're all probably sick of hearing about my Son by now so I'll stop now. You're welcome lol.

Hope you all have a great day. I think we're headed to the OBX for some beach time and I think the kids want to go to Jockey's Ridge, throw a little shopping in there and it should make for a great day.

P.S. I'M STILL SMILING!

Do NOT Mess With a Momma Bear

April 21, 2011

I realize that I talk about my Son a lot. He's my life and there's nothing I'd ever do to change that. Some people think that I'm too wrapped up in his life. They're entitled to their opinion. EFF YOU!

What are you supposed to do when you know your kid is hurting, that they're depressed and you live too damn far away to be there for them?

Remember about a week ago when I wrote (this post) about my Son and his "new" (they'd been dating for a few months by the time he told me) girlfriend? Well apparently things aren't going so good for them and it's killing me because my kid is taking it hard and I live too damn far away, I can't be there for him.

Rusty works hard, I know I've mentioned this before. When you work anywhere from 80-130 hours a week it's hard to find someone you can trust. I talked to him the other day and he was telling me that the last few times he'd talked to her he could tell something was up. That she was acting "different."

See, all the guys that he works with have had girlfriends/wives cheat on them. The hours they work, the amount of time that they're away from home is usually to blame for this. He's seen this. So when he realized that she acting different it had his mind going a thousand miles an hour. It was killing him. And him being a couple of hundred miles away at work wasn't helping him.

I told him not to do that to himself, to just not think about it and when he got home if she was still acting the same then they could see if they could work it out.

Well apparently when he got home from offshore it didn't go so good. I haven't talked to him since he got home so I don't know what's going on with them but from what he's posted on FB, I'm guessing they broke up. And he's not taking it so good. I tried to call him yesterday but he didn't answer, I texted him last night. No reply. He'll get a nice ear chewing for this when I do hear from him lol.

I can see now that my kid is that guy, the "nice guy." The one all the girls want to be "just friends" with. Which means he's going to go through a lot of heart ache.

He told me when we were talking about the bitch girlfriend that he'd told her he wasn't the kind of guy who wanted to date someone for two weeks and then break up. That he wanted to be in a relationship. I think that's where the problem is.

He's young y'all. He's only 21. But all of his friends are in serious relationships or are married. He doesn't want to do the whole partying thing. Since he was 18 he's had one goal. He wants to own a home by the time he's 25. That should tell you what kind of a guy he is.

I mean, it's a good goal for him to have. But I doubt he's going to meet many girls his age who have goals like his. Most kids his age are only interested in partyin'! Sometimes I wish he could just "let go" a little bit and enjoy life a little more.

So what has me so worried?  I woke up this morning and this is his status on FB..." Wish you were still here dad. I could really use some of your advice." Uugh...it was like a knife to my heart. His Dad committed suicide almost two years ago. So to see that on FB made me panic. Especially since Rusty wasn't answering my phone calls last night.

There's this couple that he hangs around with a lot when he's home, they take really good care of him, they look out for him. If they go out and he gets drunk, they drive him home. If he needs something taken care of while he's offshore, they do it for him.

I sent Corinne (the wife) a message on FB this morning and asked her if they'd heard from him. They hadn't but her husband called Rusty and asked him if he wanted to go to dinner with him tonight. So she sent me a message to let me know he's ok. Whew. Thank God for her!

I know that Rusty would never hurt himself. Because of his Dad's suicide he has very strong opinions about the subject. But because he wasn't answering my calls or replying to my text I was damn near panicking.

I'm so pissed right now. I'm pissed that his Dad was so selfish that he picked up that damn gun and killed himself. Especially seeing that my Son needs his Dad right now. God forbid he thought more about someone else (you know, HIS KIDS) than he did himself.

I'm pissed that this girl hurt my son. Why is it that (most) girls would prefer a guy who's going to treat them like shit over the "nice guy?" It's probably a good thing that I don't live there, she'd have a Momma bear on her ass. Lol. I wish I was joking.If there's one thing you need to know about Cajun mothers, it's that you NEVER eva mess with their kids. It's how we were raised so when we have kids of our own...we're the same way.

I'm pissed that I live too damn far away to be there for him. Am I too wrapped up in his life? There is no such thing. He's my kid. Am I not supposed to care about what's going on in his life? That he's hurting? It doesn't matter how old your kids are (in my opinion) they'll always be your "babies."

I'm pissed I can't give him a hug right now. That's all I want to do, is just hug him and make all his "hurt" go away.

What I've been up to....

April 12, 2011

Man, I've been blogging less and less lately. No particular reason, just haven't had a whole lot to talk about. But I've got some random thoughts to post today!

* Last week I got up and cleaned my house spotless, from top to bottom. I clean all the time, but this was more like a major spring clean. I love that when I'm finished I can just sit down and see everything nice and shiny, and that the house smells nice and clean instead of smelling like a couple of pugs. Yuck.

* The weather has been so gorgeous here. The day that I cleaned the house like a mad woman hubby came home and opened all the windows. (Can you see where I'm going with this?) He couldn't believe that I hadn't opened them up yet. Within 10 minutes every.single.object.in.my.house was covered with a funky green colored "dust". Hello pollen. Eff' you!

* I decided that I needed some new undies. Because I'm too cheap to spend some VS kind of money on them  I just bought some Hanes undies (from Wal Mart of course). Please tell me who in the eff decided that a size 8 (which are actually to damn big on me any way. damn it) is an xtra large? In what world? Eff you too Hanes!

* I'm buying my tickets to go see my Sister, my Aunt, and my cousins in TN for the 4th of July. It's my Mother's Day present from my son. What a kid huh? It's gonna be a crazy two weeks! Bad Girls Club style! That's how we "roll!" Haha! Actually we'll be spending a lot of time at my Aunt's cabin at the Lake! I'm really looking forward to it!

* Hubs has been doing a lot of work on my car. She's been parked in the garage (in pieces) for a couple of weeks. Try going from driving a small Lincoln to driving a Ford F-150. It's like driving a damn tank y'all! Lookout if you see me on the road...just sayin'!

* I've been talking to my Son a lot lately. Y'all know I love that! I've noticed some changes in him. He started posting things like this on FB...

And then I saw this comment that was left on his profile...

{aww}

He's a very "private" person though, and he fusses at me whenever I ask any questions, so I kept quiet. Then last week I got a text message from him that included this pic...

 {he thinks his Mom is the coolest person! awww}

I told him to tell her that as long as my kid is happy, she has no reason to be nervous! Now, if she hurts him... she might want to hide. Haha!

Since I'm "not allowed" to add any of Rusty's "friends" I was surprised when I got a friend request from her the next day! She's so adorable.

{Amanda is on the right}

Her and I started talking (via messages) and I thanked her for adding me and told her how I wasn't "allowed" to add her. This was her reply...

{yeah, she "scored" a couple of points for that comment lol}

 So I did what any nosy Mom would do. I went to look at her pics lol. And I saw this...

{the boy has skills y'all}

How sweet are they? Honestly, I surprised that he even talked to me about her. Like I said, he's really private! I asked him if she's his gf and he said "I'm trying to make her my gf!" Awww!

He talked to me about her last night and he said that she doesn't mind how much he works (sometimes over 100 hours a week), he said it's hard to find someone who can deal with his hours. So that's a good thing! She actually met Rusty's grandparents day before yesterday! Rusty said she's scared to death to meet me.

I'm not mean. Really y'all. Lol ok...I can be, when necessary!

While I was taking all the screen shots for the above I decided to take some of Rusty's status updates. The kid is hilarious y'all! He makes me laugh, so I thought I'd share my fav's with y'all! You'll have to excuse the language on some of them. He IS my son y'all lol! In no particular order...

 I love that kid, he always knows how to make his Momma laugh! Hope y'all have a good rest of your week!

The Bish Is Back...

January 31, 2011

I'm back from my trip home. As happy as I am to be home I swear it gets harder to leave my son every time I go home. He actually said to me "Momma, y'all need to move here, you need to come home!" I swear...it tore at my heart. My niece told me the same thing.

Yesterday morning she invited me to breakfast before I left to go to the airport and when I left, she started crying. Uugh...breaks my heart I tell ya.

I had a great trip. My Godchild's wedding was beautiful. She was such a beautiful bride, she was glowing. I'll be posting pics in the next couple of days, I have too many pics to include them all in one post.

The night that I got there everyone decided (after they'd canceled it once) to throw Destiny (my Godchild) a bachelorette party. I had jet lag from hell but decided I couldn't miss it. We had a blast. Rusty decided to come along since he and Destiny have been best friends since they were born lol. He was the only guy that came with us and he had a blast...getting us all drunk!

He introduced us all to Vegas Bombs (shots). And they're YUMMY y'all. Trust me, next time you go out...try one. But be careful. They're powerful. They sneak up on you. And then some.

Vegas Bomb
3/4 oz crown

We had a blast, we go drunk, the bride to be was so happy to have all of us there with her. Rusty made me the happiest Momma ever because he came out with us. I can't wait to show y'all the wedding pics. Destiny was so beautiful, she was glowing.

While I was in Louisiana Hubby's daughter asked me to post a link in my blog for her and I totally spaced on it (R, I'm so sorry!!!). Here's what she posted on here blog about it...

"I think I've mentioned before that I'm signed up to do a marathon in March. I've signed up with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training to run in the Shamrock Half Marathon over St. Patricks Day weekend. In this area, that's a HUGE event! Bands come to perform at the end. Local restaurants open up for end of race celebrations. It's a big deal.
For me this is a personal thing. I could have signed up to run the race on my own. $70 and I'd be good to go. Allowed to celebrate with everyone else at the end. But I didn't want to do that. I wanted to have a cause related to my run. In 2004 I lost a friend to Leukemia. Mike was 21. We'd gone to high school together. When I found out he was sick it was heartbreaking. Here was a guy, a young guy, who had so much going for him and he was fighting every day to survive. I saw him in 2003 at a bone marrow drive for him and was amazed at how good he looked. He seemed healthy and as full of life as ever. When I got the phone call the next year that he had passed it was rough. How could someone so young lose their life? It didn't seem fair.

Since then I have wanted to get involved with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in some way. Now that I've turned myself into this fit person who enjoys working out, the marathon seemed to be a great way to do that. But now I need to ask for you help. I'll tie on my sneakers and do the running, but I need you to please help me earn the money for this race. Fund raising is how L&LS keeps going. Donations go towards research and towards making sure that people fighting these diseases are able to live a better quality of life while they fight. Please consider even just giving up your Starbucks one day this week to DONATE that money to such a great cause. Every dollar really does make a difference."

Again R, I'm really sorry that I forgot to post this when you asked me, I had so much going on at home that it just slipped my mind. I hope you know how proud your Dad and I are of you for going for what you want and for donating your time like you are. ♥

Hope you're all well, I've got some blog reading to catch up on now!
