Randomness Like Only I Can Do...

April 23, 2013

* Holy cow, two blog post in one week? Someone better make sure I'm not running a fever or anything lol.

* I must admit, I do miss blogging. I've lost my mojo. I'm guessing people reading my blog and thinking every snarky statement I make is about them has had something to do with that. Whatever.

* This weekend my Son and his GF are going out of town for a mudding event and they've ask Mr Luvah Luvah and I if we would keep the baby. We are so freakin' excited! They're going to drop her off Thursday night and pick her up Sunday morning.

* This is the first time they've let us have her for an entire weekend. She's only spent the night with us once. We're beyond excited.

* If all goes well Thursday night then my Godchild and I are going to take Peyton and her baby Gabrielle to the zoo for the day.

* Saturday there's a huge festival here that I've never been to that Hubby really wants to go to so I think we're going to load up the stroller and go check out all of the wonderful music!

* This morning at 6 am when Mr Luvah Luvah left for work it was 70 degrees. I love Louisiana.

* Friday is our wedding Anniversary. It's amazing, I'm more in love with my husband than I ever thought possible. I know that he supports me 100% and he's got my back no matter what. Which is exactly how it should be! I do the same for him.

* We're probably just going to go out to dinner...shit I just realized we agreed to babysit on the weekend of our anniversary lol.

* I'm getting Hubby a cook book that he's been wanting since Xmas. He's going to be excited. He's getting me clothes lol. He told me to pick out what I wanted and since I'm a clothes whore...

* In three months it will be the one year anniversary of our moving to Louisiana. I'm so glad to be home. I'm so thankful that Hubby has adjusted to living here as well as he has.

* He loves EVERYTHING about living here. The weather, the food, the people. He says he'd never move back to the East Coast.

* Honestly, I worried about him moving here. I didn't know if he was going to like it. I'm so glad he does!

* Breakfast for supper tonight. One of our favorite meals!

Well, that's my randomness for the day!

My Hubby Always Tells Me...

April 22, 2013

That Facebook is nothing but Drama. He wants nothing to do with it. And even though I love being on FB and connecting with family and friends that I don't live near, school friends whom I haven't seen in years...and just keeping up with what's going on in everyone's lives, well I kind of agree with him about the drama. I always try to make a point of not posting any personal drama on there.

Though, I'll be honest...it has happened once or twice. And even then I was very vague about what was going on and who (or what) it was about. I was never trying to start drama on FB, or start an argument with anyone. Just expressing my frustration with what was going on in my life at the time.

Any "issues" (drama) in my family isn't something I want to advertise for the whole world to see. Though, we all have it don't we? I can't imagine anyone who can claim that they have the perfect family and if you do...you're lying to yourself!

I can honestly say that I have never intentionally tried to hurt someone's feelings. I've never posted something with the mindset of "This is about you, I know it, you know it but it's vague enough that no one will really know!" I'm just not that kind of person. And for anyone to think that I ever would hurts me to the very core of my being.

Anytime I have posted something personal like that, I was intentionally vague because I didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings (or start "drama" with anyone). But like most people, I need a place to express myself. I try to do it with the least amount of drama. It's what's best for everyone involved. I don't judge other people for how they choose to express themselves and I hate that I'm judged for it.

It amazes me that someone can read something on your FB (and/or blog) and just assume that it was about them without asking me right out if it is. (Not to mention, it's a little vain don't you think?) It's what I would do (more on that later). Because if you don't then you could possibly be wrong.

And sometimes when you're mad/hurt and you don't really know the truth then you run the risk of cutting someone out of your life that didn't deserve it and that really cares a great deal for you. You could be missing out on someone who could add greatly to your life. You're also cutting out any chance of getting the issue/problem resolved.

One of the traits that I hate about myself is that I care greatly what others think about me. Other peoples opinions of me can make me tear myself apart. I wish I knew how to change that but I don't. It's who I am. I'll trip over myself just to be accepted by people who matter to me, and I shouldn't have to.

I accept people for who they are. I might not always like it, but I do it anyway. Because who am I to judge right? We all have the right to our own opinions, at least that's the way it's supposed to be.
You should never judge someone for their opinions unless you want to be judged for yours. If I'm accepting of you, and your opinions then you should be accepting me of me and mine.

So, back to the FB stuff. There were some issues with my DIL this weekend and stuff that she put on FB that I thought was about me. I asked, and it was. Eventually we worked it out. It wasn't easy but for my Son's sake it's what needed to be done.

Trust me when I say, it was hard for me. But sometimes you just have to suck it up for the people that you love. Especially if you want to (continue to) have a close relationship with them.

Between the situation with the DIL and other issues sometimes I just think I'd be better off just deleting my FB and my blog. But the only thing I think that would resolve would be that my feelings would get hurt less. But I would lose the only places that I have to express myself. It's a no win situation. Either way I go.

In closing, judge not least you be judged.

Pain Management?

January 23, 2013

As I've mentioned before, I have fibromyalgia and ruptured disc as well as a couple of other conditions that cause me to be in constant pain. I've never been a person who likes to take a lot of pain medications...I just hate the way they make me feel. But there are times when I have no choice, the pain just gets to be too much.

There are a couple of reasons that I hate taking pain meds. I hate the way they make me feel. I itch all over, I hate feeling "loopy". I know too many people who are addicted to RX's drugs.

I've always hated going to "pain management." A couple of days ago the hubby and I were talking about it and he asked me why it bothered me so much. It just feels so degrading to me. First of all, I have to take a urine test every time I go, like I'm some kind of junkie or something. I mean, I do understand...there are A LOT of "legal drug addicts" out there. People who "doctor shop." Not to mention, usually sitting in the waiting room of a pain management doctors office is like sitting in a probation officers office...it looks like a room full of crack heads.

I had my first appointment with my pain management doctor here yesterday. I walked into the office and there were so many people in there that there were people standing out in the hall, they didn't have enough chairs for everyone. I never saw my dr's office in NC that full.

When I was finally called to the back to see the dr I was ready to meet my dr and get our "plan" for my treatment in order. Yeah...there was no plan for treatment. He basically asked me what kind of pain meds I'd been on before (what worked for me), wrote the RX's for me, told me that he wants to do some injections in my neck (to be scheduled at a later date) and sent me on my way.

I could have told this dr any kind of pill that I wanted and he would have given it to me. It almost made me ill. I've heard the term "pill mill" before but I'd never experienced it until yesterday.

And they wonder why there are so many people who are addicted to RX pain meds. I mean really? No talk of physical therapy, no talk of exercise, no talk of anything except eating a bunch of pills. Am I crazy or does this seem wrong to y'all??

I'm glad I hate these pills and only take them when I'm desperate for relief. Cause I've lost too many people (in one way or another) due to drugs. I don't want to turn into one of them and from the looks of it, with this new doctor I easily could. (smdh)

It's Good To Be Home

January 20, 2013

The title of this post has a couple of meanings. First, it's good to be blogging again. Since we've moved home I haven't really had the motivation to blog. I'm not sure why but I've decided to make an attempt to try to blog more.

Second, it's good to be HOME. Back with my family. Seeing my Son, my Grand Daughter, my Sister, my Dad...everyone, anytime I'd like.

Hubs and I are doing great. I had surgery (gallbladder removed) almost two weeks ago. I'm feeling better but it's a slow going process. A lot slower than I expected. I thought once they took it out I'd be back to my normal self, that's not the case. I'm just not feelings as bad as I was. I have a check up with the surgeon this week though so I'm hoping he will tell me that in time I'll be back to my old self lol.

My Grand daughter is doing great. She's amazing actually. Such a happy baby, she's always smiling. She's growing too dang fast though. I want to savor every moment and it's just going to fast for me. Y'all know I've got to post some pics of her!

 Happy, happy girl!

This is her "God Father" pose.

So stinkin' cute I can't stand it!

 She's always smiling.

She loves to send G'ma pics showing me how adorable she is! I love that her Momma takes the time to send me pics at least once a day (usually)! So sweet of her!

Like I said, it's GOOD to be HOME! I've missed y'all!

Friday Confessions....

September 7, 2012

I have really missed confessions! Time to get back into it dang it!

I confess...I really miss blogging. Since moving home it doesn't seem like I have a whole lot of interesting stuff to write about though lol.

I confess...This little cutie is one of the reason's why I haven't been blogging much.

I confess...I really need to write a blog entry about the birth of my Grand Daughter but it's so hard to put into words the emotions I went through that day.

I confess...I could sit for hours and just stare at her..

I confess...on my birthday I sat and held her for two and a half hours and did just that (stared at her).

I confess...the house is coming together nicely, I need to also write a post with pictures to show y'all our new home.

I confess...Hubs and the Pugs are loving Louisiana. I don't think I've ever seen hubby happier. Though he does have some stress going on right now.

I confess...I can't believe how idiotic and impulsive some people are. Not to mention selfish. Reality is going to smack someone in the face. Hard.

I confess...I'm happier than I've been in a long time. Gotta love that!

Forever and a Day

July 27, 2012

I know it's been forever since I've posted an entry updating y'all on the move and everything. We're almost completely settled in our (beautiful) new home!

Here's a short run down of what we've gone through during the process of this move:

1. Hubs was scammed out of $1000 from the first moving company we hired. Too long of a story for me to explain and we've chalked it up as a "lesson learned."

2. Second moving company hubs hired emailed him the morning they were supposed to pack/load/move our stuff to tell him they were canceling our move.

3. Hubs finally found a decent moving company to move our stuff, hubs had to load the truck though. No biggie, he hired a couple of guys in our neighborhood to help him and they got our whole house packed into that truck within two hours.

4. Once the truck was loaded hubs packed our dogs in his truck with him and started out for Louisiana. He stopped and spent the night with his parents on the way here. Within 30 minutes of being inside the state of Louisiana hubs was pulled over and given a speeding ticket lol.

5. As soon as hubs got to my nieces house he wanted to come see our new house. So we both climbed into our cars (truck) and set out for the 45 minute trip (from my nieces house). We got here and the guy who was supposed to be moved out of the house the day before still had half his stuff in the house and was out fishing.

6. We ended up helping him move the rest of his stuff out (so we could move in lol) and cleaned the house for him.

7. Since we had almost two weeks of waiting for the truck with our stuff to get here, we spent those two weeks sleeping on an air mattress and eating out every night.

8. The truck with our stuff finally arrived and we quickly realized that there is not a single piece of our furniture that isn't scratched. Hubs didn't wrap any of it with blankets, moving pads or anything so we had a mess.

Like I said, we're just about settled in now. We've still got a few "little" things we need to do and/or get for the house. But we're loving it here.

My niece had been asking me what "theme" I was going to go with in my kitchen and I couldn't decide. I hate doing the same thing everyone else does and just when I think I've come up with a cute new "theme" to go with it seems like everyone else does too lol. I like to be different, I don't want to do the "rooster" or "fat chef" themes that everyone seems to be doing these days.

And then it hit me...

Yes, I did lol. I decided to do an "all things cajun/Louisiana" theme. And I love it! I'm still trying to figure out the placement of certain things but for now, it'll do.

My cute little hot pepper scrubby holder I found at Dollar General (for $1)! It fits perfectly with all my other stuff!

This is the fireplace in the living room. Those candle (actually candle less) holders are actually a rust/burnt orange color and not red.

My plant stand in the otherwise useless corner.

My empty dining area. We still haven't found a dining set that we like yet. We're working on it.

Hubs is loving his new job. It's challenging but he's happy there. We've gone to my Dad's house the last couple of Saturdays in a row to do some work around his house for him. He's enjoying spending time with Don and getting to know him better.

We're doing great. All in all I have to say our marriage is right back where we both wanted it to be. We're both happier than we've been for a long time and we're enjoying every single minute of it.

Well, I've got to get my behind to bed. I sure could use the beauty sleep lol. Night y'all!

It's Been A Long Time Coming....

June 13, 2012

Great news. Hubby officially accepted the job here in Louisiana yesterday. We're moving home. I swear I feel like I've spent the last 6 years waiting to exhale lol. Yesterday, I exhaled.

This is something that hubby and I have both been hoping to make happen for quite a while, and we've finally done it. It's adorable to see how excited he is about this new job and about moving here. I have a screen shot of a text message that he sent to me tonight that I was going to post but blogger is being a pain and wont let me upload it. It's cute to see him so excited.

I'm a little bummed that I'm not going to get to say bye to a few of the people that I met but I'm glad that I don't have to bother with "goodbyes" with a few of them.

Honestly, I feel like I gave NC all I could. I tried to make it work, I tried to fit in, to be accepted. Sometimes, no matter where you are, there are people that just aren't willing to let that happen. They're just too closed off to accept people who aren't just like them. Too busy judging you instead of taking the time to get to know you. That's kind of the way I feel about a lot of the people that I met there.

Don't get me wrong, I also met some really nice people, some who helped me to get through one of the hardest times of my life. (My ex's suicide) I'll never forget that, never forget their kindness.

For the most part, I'm ready to say hello to home and good riddance to our old "home!"

I guess I'm gonna have to rethink my blog title now huh? Lol...there's nothing I'd like better than to not have to call myself homesick. Not anymore baby!

In case you're curious, the answer is YES! As a matter of fact, I DO have a shit eating perma grin on my face right now lol!

Thank you all for your prayers! Much love!

May 27, 2012

So hubby left this morning on his trip to Louisiana. His job interview is tomorrow morning. Please, if you're a praying person, say a few for us. Please pray that he gets this job.

He's so excited about this move, which I wasn't expecting. I haven't seen him this excited about anything since our wedding. He actually gets a sparkle in his eye when he talks about it.
.
He's really excited about getting out of the airplane maintenance field. He's so tired of climbing around inside of airplanes and working on them. This job will be a whole new arena for him.

He's excited about staring up his hobby of fishing again. We've been looking at houses and properties down there. He's excited about being able to do more work with bonsai trees too, since the weather down there is going to be a little "friendlier" to the trees than it is here.

As excited as I am about moving home for all the reasons I want to, I'm just as excited for hubby. I want this just as much for him as I do for myself.  He's happier than I've seen him in a long time.

Please God, please....let them say "you've got the job!"

Pray hard for us y'all!

I Can't Help It

May 18, 2012

I know I'm not supposed to get my hopes up but I can't help it. Hubby is leaving next weekend to go to Louisiana for a job interview. If you're a praying person, please say a prayer that he gets the job.

From everything he's heard for the company so far, the job is his. But until they actually say those words to him I'll be holding my breath lol. Don't worry (or celebrate), I wont forget to actually breath.

Even if he doesn't get his job we're still going to move down there eventually. I can't begin to tell you how damn happy that makes me. For so many reasons.

There's only one thing that I'm more excited about moving home...the birth of my grand daughter. That's why we're hoping to be down there by the time she gets here (she's due on September 1st)!

So yeah, say a prayer for us. Cross your fingers, and your toes!

To Tell Ya the Truth...

May 11, 2012

Photobucket

I've been so inconsistent with blogging lately, so I thought I'd sit down and do a Friday Confessional. You can head over to Mamarazzi's blog to get the details on how to participate.

I confess...I haven't been sleeping good lately. When I don't sleep my muscles let me know it. Fibromyalgia sucks sometimes lol.

I confess...I didn't sleep at all last night. At 8 o'clock this morning I got a wild hair "energy boost" and decided to clean out my closets and my two chest of drawers. About half way through I was exhausted. Lol but when it looks like a bomb went off in your house with clothes everywhere it's not like you can just stop. Damn it.

I confess...Wednesday afternoon Hubby and I spent almost five hours in the ER. He'd been having dizzy spells and chest pains for two days so I made him a dr's appointment. (He was also complaining of feeling "pressure" in his head.) They did an EKG and ran a couple of test and said that even though the EKG looked fine they wanted me to take him immediately to the ER (because of his symptoms and his family history)

I was scared to death. The man is so damn stubborn about going to a dr and taking meds. And usually when he's not feeling well he just blows it off and keeps on going.

The whole time we were in the dr's office and ER he kept looking at me like "I can't believe you're making me do this!" If you could have seen his face when the dr's office told us to go straight to the ER...it was almost funny! I could tell that he wanted to argue with them about going but he knew I wasn't about to let that happen. I'm not bossy with him, at all. But when it comes to his health I'm not going to let him take stupid chances!

Thank God, after five hours of EKG's and blood test etc the only thing that they could find was that he was dehydrated. They also said that he needs to go get a stress test, I've got to make him an appointment for that.

Of course I got the "I TOLD YOU SO!" look.

I was in a panic. And of course because he's so damn stubborn he wouldn't let me call anyone. Grrr...men!

I confess...Mother's day is this weekend and I'm really missing my Mom. I'd give almost anything to have her here with me on Mother's day. Just one more Mother's day. It doesn't help that I can't be with my Son either. Blahhh...

I confess...We got my MIL a Kindle for Mother's day. She's gonna love it!!!

I confess...Hubby got me some clothes (gave me the VS card and said "pick out some stuff that you like and order it" as my gift. I don't think I did too bad. I got two shirts, two pair of pants, two bathing suits and a dress for $230! Woohoo!

I confess...I found out yesterday that my Sister and her husband decided to close their restaurant/bar and sell it. I'm so bummed. We've always had so much fun there when I go home. But I understand why they made the decision.

When they bought it because a close friend of theirs wanted to run it. He ended up having to have both of his hips replaced so my Sister and her hubby ended up having to handle the day to day running of it.

They're used to traveling, a lot. So to be stuck in one place for so long and the stress of running the business just got to be too much. Man I'm gonna miss that place.

I confess...I had to borrow some soy sauce from my neighbor a couple of days ago. She brought it to me and ended up staying over here for almost two hours. While her 2 (or three) year old son was home. By himself.

I kept asking her "Wont he get into stuff while you're gone?" (You know, trying to give her a hint to GO HOME TO HER CHILD) and she just kept replying "Nahh...he'll get his crayons and some paper and just watch cartoons!" WTH???

I confess...our Pugs are about to drive me out of my damn mind! They're so damn bad!

Well, that's all I've got for y'all this week. I hope you all have a great weekend and a happy Mother's Day!

Rawr...Friday Confessional

April 20, 2012

Photobucket

Yes Ladies (and Gents) it's that time of the week again, time to let your confessions flow! Get it all out now so you can have a good weekend instead of holding in all that crap that weighs you down! It's really easy, just head on over to Mamarazzi's blog for all the details.

Well I'm busting at the seams so lets get started, shall we??

I confess...I'm pretty excited about my new layout. I've still got a couple of kinks to work out of it, should get that done today though.

I confess..I'm having a hard time adjusting to being back in NC. My extended trip home (Louisiana) spoiled me. I'm so wrapped up in my hopes of moving back there that it's been hard for me to readjust to being back here.

I confess...Now that I am home (NC) I realize how many fake ass people I'm surrounded by. And I hate it. I'm not a fake person, never have been. So to sit and pretend that I don't know how certain people really feel about me and how fake they're being about it...it makes me ill. I've realized that people who I thought were friends are only a friend when I have something to offer them. These are the type of people who I'm ready to be rid of.

I know I talk about people from Louisiana people, Cajun people like they're from another world, but in a lot of ways it's true. A Cajun person will not be fake with you, if they don't like you...you'll know it. Just be real people.

I confess...I have a dr's appointment today and I'm a bit worried. Recently I've noticed a change in my "breast tissue" (the only way I know how to describe it) so I called my Niece (she's an RN) and asked her about it.

Since my Aunt had breast cancer my Niece said it was best if I get to the Dr asap.  I'm scared. I'm sure it's nothing but just the possibility...scares the you know what out of me. I already have a mammogram scheduled in October but I'm guessing they're going to move it up. Not looking forward to seeing the Boob Nazi's. But I know I need to.

I confess...I closed my Twitter account. I couldn't figure out how to get my blog entries to stop showing up on there so I just closed the damn thing.

I confess...I've been seriously considering closing down Homesick Cajun. I used to love that I was "incognito" on here. But so many family members have found out my blog address that I can't honestly express my true feelings, or what's going on in my life without the damn rumor mill starting. Lets be honest, there's just some bitches who don't need to know my business. Just like I don't need to know theirs.

I confess...I'm really going to hate losing my "Homesick Cajun" name though. I love this name, and it's really who/what I am. Once we move to Louisiana I'll come up with something cheeky I'm sure. I'll let (most of you) y'all know when I do close up shop here and what the new addy will be.

I confess...I've had my nose buried deep into a GED math book for the last week. I'm determined to go in to class, take the practice test and (hopefully) have my teacher schedule me to take the actual test. I also have to take the essay part of the GED test and then I'll be done. I'm ready for this shit to be over with lol.

I confess...Hubby has a wedding to perform down at the beach on Sunday. I'm excited to get a chance to go to the beach. I'm hoping that once he's done performing the ceremony we can just go sit on the beach and relax. I NEED THAT.

Well, that's all I can think of for this week. No, head on over to Mamarazzi's and link up! Hope you all have a great weekend!

It's A.....A Letter To My Grandchild

April 10, 2012

In one of the entries I posted last week I mentioned that I was trying to figure out what I want my grand baby to call me.  I think I also mentioned that my Nieces son calls me Onnie since he can't say Aunt. Well since that name seemed to stick that's what I've decided to let the baby call me.

Yesterday my Son and his girlfriend had their ultrasound to find out the sex of my grand baby. It broke my heart that I couldn't be there. The kids decided that they were going to try to Facetime with me if the facility had wifi, they didn't. So the called me and put me on speaker phone so I could hear it. I couldn't understand a word that was being said but my Son's best friend Nick (the baby's Godfather) was sweet enough to talk me through it.

I cried the entire time because I couldn't be there, because I was missing one of the most exciting times in my Son's (and mine) life. Just hearing the baby's heartbeat was enough to send me into tears!

In the first picture that I was able to see the baby is sucking it's thumb.

The next words I heard was the entire room saying....

Though my Son and were both hoping for a boy we couldn't be happier to know that in four short months there is going to be a beautiful little girl that is a mixture of my Son and his beautiful girlfriend to spoil rotten. I was sobbing like a baby. Lol I pretty much cried all day yesterday. I'm over the moon for this baby already!

Introducing Peyton Claire....

She's already stolen my heart!

Dear Peyton,

I never thought that I would get to this stage of my life, where anticipating your arrival is almost as exciting for me as waiting for your dad to be born was. I was wrong. Since the moment I found out about you I've been over the moon.

I spend hours sitting around imagining what your going to look like, what your laugh is going to sound like. I imagine watching your Daddy holding you and spoiling you. I imagine watching your Mommy care for you and fall in love with you more than she already is. I imagine you running to me, your Onnie, when your Mommy and Daddy wont let you have your way.

I promise to be a fun Onnie, I'm going to read you stories like I used to read to your daddy, I promise to teach you how to give me "pinch kisses" just like your Daddy did when he was little. I promise to get down in the floor with you and play with your toys and to make you laugh until your tummy aches.

Together you and I will have lots of fun, and when your mom and dad are not around I'll probably let you get away with things that they might not approve of, but as you will learn, that's what good Onnie's do. They spoil you and give you things that you won't get elsewhere!

I'm just so excited that you are coming soon! This will be a new rebirth - for both you and I. Your birthday will always be a special day for me, (especially if you're born on my birthday!) and when you get bigger the parties will get grander and the spoiling will get worse. You will cry to me "please Onnie can I have this or that", and honestly, if I have the money and you've been good, you'll probably bat your eyes at me and get your way.

There are so many people I wish you could have known, baby. Maybe you met them on your way here?  Your Maw Maw Rose, your Aunt Sissy. What beautiful people there have been in your mom and dad’s lives. You wont get to meet them, but their inspiration is still felt by the people around you, so in a round-about way you will know them. And I'll be sure that you learn about who they were and how much they would have loved meeting you, and spoiling you.

So littlest one, I am so happy you are coming to meet me soon. I can't wait to see you. I can't wait to see if you'll have your daddies eyes, your mothers lips. What will you be like? Who will you be? Borrow a little from mommy and a little from daddy. But most of all, I know, you will be you. I can say with some certainty you will be independent. I’m pretty sure you will be considerate and loving, intelligent and thoughtful, creative and articulate. I know these things because that’s what you live with.

Most of all, you will be you. My little unborn baby Peyton, your entire life is still ahead of you. A blank canvas for you to paint your life on. You are not limited to being mini-Amanda or mini-Rusty. Amazing as they are, and as much as you will learn from them. You will be you, and I can’t wait to get to know the person you will become.

There are a few things that I hope that you inherit from your Mommy and Daddy. Your Mommy's cute girly style, and her sweetness. Your Daddy's infectious laugh, his compassion for other people. I hope that you're as outspoken as both of them, and also that you have their love for their families.

I hope that I am as important to you as your Mommy and Daddy's grandparents are to them. I hope that I am someone you'll always remember lovingly, and that I'm someone who you'll turn to when you need someone to talk to, just like your Mommy does her Grandmother.

Most of all Peyton, I hope that you please remember that nobody except your mother and father will ever love you the way I (and your other Grandma) do. I'm so excited to meet you little one, I can't wait to hold you in my arms and look into your eyes.

Love always,

Onnie

TTUS Getting Back Into the Swing of Things...Slowly.

April 3, 2012

It's been a little hard for me to get into the hang of blogging again (in case you haven't noticed) so I decided to link up with Shawn  and Impulsive.
I have baby fever. As I mentioned in my last entry, I found out that I'm going to be a Grandma this past December and I couldn't be happier. My Pinterest is overflowing with baby stuff.

My Son got to feel the baby move for the first time yesterday. I cried like a baby when I found out. This whole experience has turned me into an emotional, blubbering idiot.

I've started tanning again. My (Podunk) little town is now down to two tanning salons. One is awesome the other is dirty, their beds are old and the staff lazy. I love the salon I'm going to but DAMN! It takes an act of congress just to get an appointment.

Hubby's daughters are coming down for Easter dinner this weekend. Should be a nice day.

I really need to wash my car but every time I've planned to wash it the weather doesn't play along!

I'm completely addicted to The Hunger Games books. I finished reading the second book yesterday and I'm depressed. I'm depressed cause I know I only have one more book to read and then it's over.

Well, that's all for me, y'all have a great day!

Confession Time

March 30, 2012

Photobucket
It's been so long since I've done my Friday Confessions. I'm so ready for this! Are you ready? Grab the button above and play along!I confess...I'm counting down the days until I get to back to Louisiana. I can't wait to see my Son's girlfriend and her growing belly.

I confess...I'm not looking forward to the 19 hour road trip alone though. I've never done a road trip alone. I'm also terrified of driving on interstates alone. But I'm gonna do it!

I confess...I can't wait until we move there, I wont have to make any road trips. Yay.

I confess...My Son and I are still having "issues" with what my grand baby is going to call me. He wants the baby to call me Grandma...not gonna happen. I've got to come up with a cute name that suits me.

I confess...I need to wash my car this weekend. She's white but with all the pollen it's a puky yellow color.

I confess...I've jumped on the Hunting Games bandwagon. I just finished the first book and I loved it.

I confess...I feel a new blog design coming on. I'm over this one already lol.

I confess...I've tried commenting on a couple of "confession" entries and blogger wont let me. I keep getting an error message! :0(

I confess...I've missed my Friday Confessions!

It's Good To Be Back

March 28, 2012

I know, I know..."Where in the hell have you been??" My month long trip home (Louisiana) for the holidays ended up turning into a three month visit. Whew...by the time I got home (North Carolina) I was exhausted lol.

There's so much to tell y'all about. First of all..........

I'M GONNA BE A GRANDMOTHER!
My son and his girlfriend found out a week or so after Christmas that they are pregnant. And though I always dreamed of my son being married and having all his stuff together...how can I be mad about a grand baby? I can't!

I'm beyond excited. Hubby is currently looking for a job in Louisiana (or close to it) and we'll hopefully be moving before the baby gets here. She's due on my birthday. We'll find out on April 9th if it's a boy or a girl.

Once I found out about the baby I decided to stay in Louisiana long enough to go to the first ultrasound appointment. I can't begin to describe to y'all what that was like. I was bawlin' like a damn baby in the room once I heard the heartbeat and saw the baby!

My Dad was also hospitalized while i was there. His health isn't good at all. I constantly worry about him now that I'm home. I can't wait until I'm there so I can take care of him!

I ended up staying with my Niece and her family most of the time that I was there. It was nice, though I'm not used to being around three kids under the age of 9 anymore lol.

Here's a bunch of pics, in no particular order...

My son and I on Christmas Eve

My Sister Denise, Nephew in law Luis and his friend Floyd

My Son's gf and I. Girlfriend can dance lol.

My BIL Tomy on his paddle board. They live on the bayou and their bar/restaurant is on the bayou so sometimes they just jump on their paddle boards to go to the bar. Lmao!

My Sister Diann

Amanda (Niece), Denise (Sister), Me and Amanda (AKA Lil Tot since there are now two Amanda's in the family. She's my Grand baby's Momma lol)

I let my Niece Amanda fix my hair. This was taken while she was in the middle of her giving me a "Jersey Bump", I now see why she told me to NOT look in the mirror until she was done.

Diann (Sister) and I at her bar watching the LSU game.

Louisiana Sunset

Lil Tot and I

My Godchild/Niece Destiny and I.

My Niece Amanda's son Maddox. I fell in love with this little guy while I was there. He calls me Onnie (he can't say Aunt lol)

My Nephew Eric and I.

My Sister Diann and her hubby Tomy before going to the Apollo Mardi Gras Ball. How gorgeous is her dress??

Sisterly love

One of my new favorite shots. It's called a finger me good but since my Niece Amanda and I refuse to call it that we just call them "FMG's". They're so yummy! 3/4th's a shot of crown 1/4th a shot of butterscotch schnapps.

When I landed in Lafayette (Louisiana) the first thing I saw was this woman dressed as Mrs Clause. Head to toe...it was hilarious!

Me, Rusty, and Amanda. Vegas bombs baby.

Cheers!

Me again

My new car hubby got me while I was gone. Since I'll be making a few road trips to Louisiana until we move there he decided to sell mine and get me this one.

Diann before the ball...none of us realized that she had her glasses hanging on her dress until after we took these pics lol.

Maddox on "Wacky, Tacky" day at daycare for Dr. Suess' birthday.

Hubby's daughters crossing the finish line of the Shamrock Marathon. I cut my trip short in order to be able to be there to watch them cross the finish line. So proud of both of them!

They rock!

My Son telling me that we've taken enough pictures and he's not taking anymore with me.

Amanda and I at her birthday party. My Son is on the left in the background and my Dad is on the right.

Amanda and I thinking we look cute on the dance floor.

Quite a few things happened while I was there, and I learned quite a few things too. Here's a list.

A member of my family  was extremely drunk and took my bottle of pain pills out of my purse and took a bunch of them. We're still not sure how many were taken but when I found her, her pupils were unresponsive and she barely had a pulse. She was rushed to the hospital (by ambulance) and released the same night. She didn't intentionally try to commit suicide, she was just drunk and depressed. But...this happened on Christmas Eve night.

A friend of mine passed away. He was 35 years old and they're pretty sure he had a massive heart attack. Because of his passing away I got to see his brother who used to be one of my best friends. He'd been in a car wreck 7 years earlier and had massive brain injuries. The last time I saw him he was in a wheelchair. When I saw him at the funeral he's walking with a crutch and sounds like the guy I knew before the wreck. It was amazing to see him and get to spend some time with him.

I learned that my Son isn't dealing with his father's suicide as well as I thought he was and that he needs me more now than I think he has since he was little. Especially with a baby on the way. He's also not dealing with my living so far away as I thought he was. It breaks my heart to know that. It also broke my heart to see my adult son cry every time I talked about coming home.

I learned that my Father's health is even worse than I thought it was and that he isn't taking care of himself at all. He needs me there, and he wants me there to take care of him. None of my other family members who live there have the time to take care of him.

I learned that I need to go home. I need to be with my family just as much as they need to be there. It's hard living somewhere that you have very few (one) friends. It's also hard to live around a bunch of people who you feel like will never accept you no matter how much you accept them.

I've learned that someone that I thought I was at least civil with has been talking about me behind my back. I never considered the bitch a friend but she sure is an enemy now!

I've learned that there are some things I should not read. It's only going to piss me off. I've also learned that some people are mean just for the sake of being mean. And because they're so damn immature that they don't care who's feelings they hurt. Hell, if I had to guess I'd say that was the intention all along.

I also realized that I have an amazing family. We might be dysfunctional but we love each other and we support each other no matter what.

I've missed reading my favorite blogs and cant wait to catch up with all of you!
